What is Mighty Insights™?
Updated over a week ago

With Mighty Insights™, you have access to data across multiple dashboards to support more aspects of your business.

You’ll be able to make better decisions as you drill down via interactive charts and uncover new insights about how your members interact with one another and your content and Spaces.

Mighty Insights is available on desktop web. The data displayed reflects GMT/UTC time.

Please keep in mind that Mighty Insights is only available on paid plans. If you are currently on our Free Trial of the Business Plan, you will not be able to see the data in your Mighty Insights.

Getting Started

You can access Mighty Insights from Network Settings > Mighty Insights

Mighty Insights are viewable by Network Hosts and moderators on our Community, Business, Courses, Path to Pro and Mighty Pro Plans. They cannot be viewed by Space Hosts.

What’s available to you in Mighty Insights will depend on your role:

  • Courses Plan and up Network Hosts have access to all Mighty Insights

  • Courses Plan and up Network moderators have access to all Mighty Insights except for the Plans tab and the Income Details tab.

Community Plan Network Hosts and moderators have access to the Network Overview, Spaces Overview, Members, Ambassadors and Storage tabs only.

Keep in mind these helpful tips as you explore:

  • “i” tooltip: We’ve built-in some helpful explanations which you can see by hovering over the “i” icon on each chart.

  • Insights on desktop web: You can access Insights on the desktop web — it’s not available in the Mighty Networks app right now.

  • Download your dashboard: You can download each dashboard in PDF or CSV format. You can also download specific charts and tables into a variety of formats, including PNG (image), TXT, Excel, CSV, JSON, HTML, or Markdown.

  • Glossary: At all times, you’ll have access to the Glossary dashboard, which you can use to find helpful definitions of terms and concepts used in your Insights.

If you have access to our full Mighty Insights offering, you should also know that you can:

  • Change your dashboard timeframe: You can change the timeframe you’re analyzing in the top left corner on every dashboard except the Overview dashboard (to change the timeframe, select the date range you want to view, then click the Reload button on the right).

  • If you have had your Network for under a year and you are filtering Date Range by 'Last 12 Months' or 'This Year', you will see different results. The 'This Year' filter represents data YTD, while 'Last 12 Months' represents data for 12 completed months. You can view Insights up to the last 12 months.

In Mighty Insights, you have two dashboards, one for your entire Network (All Network) and one for Space Features.

All Network

The All Network Dashboard includes the following.

  • Overview

  • Members

  • Livestreams

  • Direct Messages

  • Plans

  • Income Details

  • Ambassadors

  • Storage

  • Glossary

Overview

Your Overview dashboard is where you’ll be able to see at a glance the level of member activity in your Mighty Network.

The Overview dashboard includes the following:

  • Total Contributions

  • Contributing Members

  • Active Members

  • Total Members

Data refreshes daily at 2 am UTC.

Members

In your Network Members tab you’ll be able to view how many of your members are active (those who visit your network during the given day/week/month), and how many of those are contributing (performing some action, such as clicking on a post, posting, cheering, RSVPing, voting or commenting).

  • Contributing Members

  • Active Members

  • Total Members

  • New Members

  • Percentage of Active Members

  • Active Members by Cohort

  • Active Member by Hour

  • Activity by Platform

  • Host and Member Engagement

  • Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Active Members charts for the past 28 days

  • How sticky your Network was versus the most successful Mighty Networks (DAM/MAM and WAM/MAM ratios) for the past 28 days

  • Active Members Heatmap for the past 24 months

A quick tip: Each of the chart legend items can be clicked on to select or hide the item.

The Host & Member Engagement table shows a ranking of your most active Hosts, moderators, and members by Engagement Score. The Engagement Score is calculated by assigning weights to the different actions of people in your Mighty Network. You can download the full list of Top Hosts, moderators, and members by selecting the three-dot menu in the upper right corner.

Here is how the Engagement Score is calculated:

  • Posts Created 20 (10 for introduction posts)

  • Post Clicks 1

  • Comments 10 (includes comments on Table of Contents)

  • Cheers 2

  • Votes 8

  • RSVPs 10

  • Messages Sent 4

  • Followers 0

From these tables, clicking on a name provides the option to "Link to Member Detail Page" for that person (the date range can also be selected on this page).

You’ll be able to view the date of the last visit to the Network, engagement metrics (Post clicks, cheers, comments, messages, RSVPs, poll votes), engagement over time, and the top 20 Posts the person engaged with, as well as subscription and one-time purchase history.

In the Subscription History table located on a Member's Detail Page, the status of each payment is indicated in the "Subscription Renewal (Yes/No)" column. Here’s how to interpret this:

  • No: This label appears next to the first payment of a new subscription, indicating that it is the initiation of a subscription, not a renewal.

  • Yes: This label is used for all subsequent payments after the initial one, indicating that these are renewals of an existing subscription.

The next two tables show you:

  • The number of contributing members compared to the number of Active members.

  • The number of Active Members compared to the total number of members.

Below that are two tables that show:

  • The number of Total Members in a date range

  • The number of New Members (organic vs. referred)

Active Members by Cohort shows you who is posting and who is interacting with posts by their cohort. Cohorts are just sets of members, grouped by how long they’ve been in your network. It’s helpful to take a look at this from time to time: a healthy network will have contributions from veterans and newbies alike.

If those who’ve been with your network for less than 90 days are underrepresented, it can be a great time to encourage them to break the ice!

Conversely, if you have less representation from members with more tenure, then you may want to consider how you can re-engage them and keep members coming back over the long term.

The Activity by Platform charts show the percentage of activity in the Network that came from each platform: Web/Desktop, iOS App, Android App, Web/Mobile. The first chart shows overall percentage and the second shows activity over the course of the date range selected.

You’ll also see active members in the Hourly, Daily, Weekly, and Monthly timeframes. Having members visiting often is a good indicator that they find your network valuable. A helpful rule of thumb is that Daily Active Members are your most devoted members, and Monthly Active Members are more casual. This gives you an opportunity to set goals for converting more of your Hourly or Monthly Actives to Weekly or Daily Actives.

Here we show the industry-standard DAM/MAM and WAM/MAM, which tell you: of your Monthly Actives, what percentage are visiting daily or weekly, and what portion of your members show up more or less frequently. (DAM = daily active members, WAM = weekly active members, MAM = monthly active members).

We’ve added targets for each of these, which are based on our research into what makes a successful network, defined as a network whose member base is growing and a network that sticks around over the long haul. In these networks, 20% of members show up Daily and 50% show up Weekly.

The Active Members Heatmap shows you when your members were most active during the past two years. Days of the week that are shaded darker give you an indication of when to schedule your posts or events to get the most impact.

Your member retention rate metrics show you the percentage rate in which new and existing members join and/or return to your Mighty Network. The date ranges are 7 days, 30 days and Weekly Member Retention by Cohort. The last weekly cohort usually doesn't cover a full week from Monday to Sunday. Instead, it's set up this way to ensure that every member in the cohort has been created at least 14 days ago. These benchmarks are based on our internal research, where we found that thriving communities tend to hit these metrics.

Keep in mind that even if your members aren’t contributing, they are still spending time in the Network and getting value. With this data, you’ll be able to make better decisions around the actions you need to take if you want to contribute part of the culture, for instance during onboarding as well as regular reminders within your community.

Your member growth charts can be filtered by Spaces as well as your overall network. This data will tell you how much your Mighty Network is growing, and also what portion of your new members are joining via an invite (referral). A low referral percentage means you could have an opportunity to grow membership by activating members through a referral campaign or our Ambassador Program.

Livestreams

The Livestreams dashboard gives you an overview of your Livestream activity in your network including a filter for Spaces. You have the option to select a date range from 7 days to within the last year.

The following information is provided:

  • Total # of Livestreams

  • Average duration

  • Total Participants = How many people viewed the Livestream (including viewers + speakers)

  • Max Participants

  • Livestream Details = Snapshot of all Livestreams with the name, date, start time (UTC), duration, space type, space name, total participants, and chat count (number of chats sent during the Livestream)

You can dial into the details of one particular Livestream in the “Livestream Stats” by clicking on the Name and then “Link to Livestream Detail Page”

The Livestreams detailed page dashboard gives you specific insights to the selected Livestream including:

  • Name of the Livestream

  • Creator of the Livestream

  • Livestream Start time (UTC)

  • Livestream Duration

  • Space that livestream took place in

  • Max Participants are broken down by the minute, which means how many people were viewing the Livestream (including viewers + speakers)

  • Total Chat Count

Click on a Livestream name and click "Link to livestream detail page". The Livestream detail page will show you:

  • Total number of Participants in the livestream including viewers and speakers

  • Livestream duration (in minutes)

  • Livestream Start Date and Time (you can drill down to see the Started by Minute or Started by Time.

  • Livestream Start Time

  • Average Viewer Time (the average view time for the Livestream)

The graph will show you visually the number of viewers and speakers in the livestream by minute.

Under that will be a table showing the Participant Stats (Name, role and view time).

Direct Messages

The Private Chats dashboard has been renamed to “Direct Messages” and lets you see how much direct and group messaging is going on between your members—it might be more than you think and a good sign that your members are getting value from being connected to one another in your Mighty Network. This does not include the Chat feature inside of Spaces, that is in the Spaces Features dashboard.

You can track the level of message activity happening on your network by seeing the # of direct messages messages sent in (4) areas:

  • Total Number of Direct Messages

  • Message Senders

  • Active Members Using Direct Messages: This chart shows the percentage of active members in the Network who have sent a direct message (1:1 Chat, Group Chat) in the selected date range. In successful Mighty Networks, 15% or more of members use Direct Message.

  • Total Direct Messages Sent by Role: This chart shows the total direct messages grouped by network role.

  • % of Direct Messages Sent per Platform

  • Top 50 Direct Message Senders

With insights to the chat activity, you can understand the level of engagement amongst the members in your network. You can track spikes or lulls in engagement and have awareness of when members have a tendency to leverage chat as another way of connecting instead of solely measuring public posts and comments.

You can track the number of chat messages sent per platform which include:

The platform breakdown tells you which devices your members are chatting from, and how the mix is changing over time.

You can see who and how many messages are being sent by the top 50 members in your network. By knowing the individuals who are most active, during a given date range you can understand the engagement and behaviors of those most active with chat.

Plans

On the Plans dashboard, you’ll be able to see subscription data over time. The Plans dashboard features the ability to display subscriptions by currency sold (and convert revenue metrics to 10 different currencies), as well as click on charts such as “ Subscriptions” or “Free Trials Started” to view a list of people the chart refers to for a specific date. This chart will display the top 10 most frequently used currencies. The revenue displayed will be the total revenue of the date range selected, regardless of currencies.

You’ll have an overview of the following:

  • Estimated Total Revenue

  • Est. Subscription Revenue

  • Est. One-Time Purchase Revenue

  • One-Time Purchases

  • Active Subscriptions

  • Active Subscribers

  • Subscription Retention Rate

  • Subscriptions Started and Renewed

  • Subscriptions Started and Renewed by Plan

  • Subscriptions Canceled

  • Subscriptions Ended

  • Active Free Trials

  • Free Trials Started

  • Free Trials Ended

  • One Time Purchases

  • One Time Purchases by Plan

At the top of the Plans dashboard, you can filter by Plan Name, Plan Interval and Plan Internal Notes. A Plan name will only show up once. So, if you have many Plans with the same name, you will need to use the Internal Plan note to distinguish between them.

Note: we will only show Plans with transaction in the last 24 months.

The first chart is for Estimated Total Revenue. This will show the estimated revenue from subscriptions and one-time purchases during the selected date range, including Mighty Network fees. Stripe and Apple fees are not included.

Under Subscriptions, you have the ability to see:

  • Active Subscriptions: This chart shows the number of active subscriptions. This does not include free subscriptions and free trials.

  • Subscription Retention Rate: This chart shows the number of subscriptions renewed and ended. The subscription retention rate is calculated as a percentage of subscriptions renewed divided by all subscriptions up for renewal

  • Subscriptions Started and Renewed: This chart shows the number of subscription starts, renewals, and subscriptions that started due to moving members between plans, during the selected date range.

  • Subscription Started and Renewed by Plan: This table shows the number of subscriptions started and renewed by plan during the selected date range.

  • Subscriptions Canceled: This chart shows the number of subscriptions canceled. Subscriptions remain active until the end of the billing period.

  • Subscriptions Ended: This chart shows the number of subscriptions ended and subscriptions that ended due to moving members between plans.

Under Subscriptions Free Trials you will be able to see

  • Active Free Trials: This is the number of active free trials across all plans during the selected date range.

  • Free Trials Started: This chart shows the number of free trials across all plans started during the selected date range.

  • Free Trials Ended: This chart displays two key metrics:

    1. Number of Free Trials Ended: This includes all free trials that have concluded within the selected date range. It counts both trials that converted into paying subscriptions and those that did not.

    2. Conversion Rate: This is calculated as the percentage of trials that converted into paying subscriptions divided by the total number of trials that ended.

Important Note on Trial End Dates: The end date of each trial is based on its scheduled conclusion date, not on any early cancellation. For example, if a free trial is designed to end after 7 days, it will be included in the chart on day 7, even if the member cancels the trial earlier.

Under One-Time Purchases you will be able to see:

  • One-Time Purchases: This chart shows one-time purchases made during the selected date range.

  • One-Time Purchases by Plan: This table shows one-time purchases by plan during the selected date range.

This information can show the success of a marketing campaign by showing a spike in purchased plans with the timing of marketing activities.

This will help you tie changes in subscriptions back to things like course cohorts wrapping up, a large marketing push, or a feature in the press. You’ll also be able to view your revenue numbers. These numbers are estimates, so we recommend you refer to your Income Details tab for the highest level of accuracy.

Note: If you deactivate a plan as a Host, it will appear in the canceled subscriptions data.

Income Details

This is a tab where you will see daily updated income details from your Plans. You will be able to sort this data by these filters.

Glossary

This is a great place to review all the terms we use in the Network Dashboard in Mighty Insights!

Spaces Features

The Space Features Dashboards include:

Spaces Overview

This dashboard gives you an overview of:

Space Contributions, which shows you the contributions per feature to show you which is the most popular amongst your members.

In the Top Spaces table, you can see the Spaces that have the most engagement as well as:

  • Space Title

  • Feed Contributions

  • Table of Contents Contributions

  • Chat Contributions

  • Page Contributions

  • Visits

Feed

This dashboard Includes data for the Feed Space Feature, including post (Quick Posts, Articles, Polls, Questions) and interaction (Comments, Cheers) data.

It shows you:

  • Total Contributions (Members and Hosts including the metrics above. Total Contributions are a measure of engagement across your Network)

  • Contributing Members

  • Total Posts

  • % Member Posts (which shows you the number of posts by Hosts and the percentage of member posts)

  • Feed Contributions

  • Total Post by Type (which shows you the volume of each type of post being created and any trends that indicate to you how engaging your content is over time)

  • Member Posts vs. Host Posts

  • Top Posts

This chart lets you spot trends, and the mix of types lets you know where you might have opportunities to add variety. Slower periods can show you opportunities to increase activity in the network by posting your own content or encouraging members to do so.

This chart shows the proportion of posts written by Hosts vs. those written by members. The higher the percentage of member posts, the more self-sustaining the community. This can be a great sign that members are helping each other out! If the % that a Host post is higher, it can mean there’s an opportunity to encourage members to step in and contribute more to your Mighty Network.

The Top Posts chart drills down to show you the engagement activity on your Posts. In it you will see the Post Title, Creator Name, Role, Post Type, Space, Post Clicks, Total Contributions, Comments, Cheers, Answers, Shares.

This data can show you how members interact with posts your Hosts create versus those that other members create. If you find that members’ posts have less interaction, you may want to explore how to encourage members to engage more with each others’ posts.

Find out who’s spending the most time and attention on your content, and also which content is the most compelling for your members. You can sort by the column headers in these tables and click on the member name to go to their Member detail page, their profile, or on the post title to open the post.

This will also show you interaction trends that give you a way of seeing how engaging your content is over time. It also lets you see the details: lots of cheers but few comments might mean there’s an opening to spark more conversation in your network.

This chart also gives you insights into the relative interactions between different content types. This lets you see, for example, if polls tend to get a lot of comments—even if you don’t have many polls. In that case, you may want to consider posting more polls.

The engagement (cheers, comments, post clicks) shown for Top Posts is in relation to the Date Range selected.

Events

This includes data for the Events Space Feature, such as:

  • Total Contributions

  • Contributing Members

  • Total Events

  • Total RSVPs

Scroll down to see the The Top Events chart. This chart will show you events sorted by their engagement score, which Space the event is in, Creator Name, Role, Event Clicks, Total Contributions, Comments, Cheers, RSVPs and Shares.

Table of Contents

Includes data for the Table of Contents Space Feature, including:

  • Total Contributions

  • Contributing Members

  • Table of Contents Started

  • Lessons and Quizzes Started

The Table of Contents Contributions are the sum of actions members, moderators and Hosts take within your Network on the Table of Contents feature.

Scroll down to find the Table of Contents Completion chart, which shows overall member progress in any Space with a Table of Contents. This includes tracked Lessons and Quizzes with completion options enabled.

The Lesson Completion chart, below the Table of Contents Completion chart, shows overall member progress for each Lesson, sorted by the order the Lessons appear in the Network.

The Quiz Completion chart shows overall member progress for each Quiz, sorted by the order the Quizzes appear in the Network.

The Interactions and Progress by Member chart will show you your most engaged members. You can see the name of the member Space, when they joined, Last Interaction Date, Last Viewed Lesson, Last Completed Lesson, Last Started Quiz, Last Completed Quiz, Completion % (only Sections and Lessons that track completion), Clicks and Comments.

Note: If the completion settings for a Section, Lesson, or Quiz are changed, it will take at least 24 hours for these updates to be reflected in the Mighty Insights metrics.

Clicking on an individual member > "Link to Member Detail Page" to see their Member Table of Contents Progress Report.

Linking out to the Member Table of Contents Progress Report will show detailed completion metrics for the individual member including two tables showing Lesson Progress and Quiz Progress.

This content is downloadable as well.

If the member is a part of multiple Spaces with a Table of Contents, you will see the option to filter the Space at the top of the dashboard.

Includes similar data to your Direct Messages dashboard but for your Space Chat feature, including:

  • Total Chat Messages

  • Message Senders

  • % of Direct Messages Sent per Platform

  • Top 50 Direct Message Senders
